Asturias is where TopMin has its deepest roots. Our co-founder Stefan Plueth has been collecting and working the fluorite localities of northern Spain for decades: Berbes, La Collada, the Emilio Mine and the Jaimina Mine. A large part of what you see here came out of the ground with his own hands.
Spanish fluorite is known for its colour range and crystal quality: purple and colourless cubes, often with baryte, quartz or calcite in association, and the kind of glassy faces that make Asturian material recognisable on a shelf from across a room.
Every specimen is a single piece. We photograph each one from several angles, measure and weigh it, and describe the locality as precisely as the piece allows.
